Antique Victorian Gold Guard Chain

Antique Gold Guard Chain, of cable link design, and hung with a gold swivel.

Originating in the early 1800's, these long chains were known variously as Muff or Guard chains and worn to suspend either a watch or a muff. It may be worn in a variety of ways.
